Hi, I’m Mia Watkins. As you might have guessed by the logo, I’m a multimedia journalist. I’m from Birmingham, Alabama and have six years of journalism experience through education, internships and freelance work. I recently graduated from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism, Media, Integrated Communications where I honed my reporting skills across several platforms.

Medill is also where I developed a knack for finding and telling enterprise stories.  I spent my undergraduate career at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. My work has appeared in the  Arkansas-Democrat Gazette, Birmingham Weekly, WELD Birmingham and on MarketWatch.com. When I’m not covering hard news, I contribute to the pop culture website Bark + Bite. I’m also a burgeoning social media junkie.  In my free time, I enjoy reading, listening to music and lots of food.
